Vision

Aikyatan Development Society (ADS) envisions rural people to make their lives more healthy, secured and prosperous through awareness, education, health, income generation, skill building and government linkages encouraging active participation of stakeholders in the development process leading to capacity building and community ownership of the intervention linked with good governance to herald a new horizon of prosperity for the vulnerable community.

Mission

Demonstrate integrated sustainable rural development model through selection of village clusters, undertake research, build capacity of stakeholders, implement need-based intervention linking with service providers to bring in positive changes in the lives of vulnerable population by eradicating the evils of ignorance, enlightening with practical knowledge and building skill to achieve the desired objectives within a defined time frame and vow to keep up the ongoing momentum in future.

Objectives

• Undertake need assessment, action research and develop knowledge-base to design sustainable models to address rural issues.
• Design appropriate strategies linking with programs to address poverty through introduction of various sustainable models for holistic development.
• Build capacity of women’s collectives through formation of Self-Help Group (SHG) represented poor marginalized community.
• Skill building of various stakeholders through designing and organizing need-based training modules.
• Establish non-formal education centres in different areas to address illiteracy and mainstreaming of drop outs through school enrollment drive.
• Reduce Infant Mortality, Maternal Mortality, Mal-nutrition and address common health issues like WASH, solid waste management, adolescent health, menstrual hygiene, geriatric care prevailing amongst rural households through integrated health intervention.
• Promote linkages and ensure easy access to various government schemes through building strong partnership with service providers under community convergence initiative.
• Encourage vulnerable women to take up sustainable income generation activity through need-based skill development training linking with local market to ensure continuity of income.
• Systematic exchange of information, sharing experiences & ideas concerning various development issues linking with possible intervention for holistic development.
• Study, analyze and share the impacts of local intervention with government and non-government counterpart and to take proactive role in advocating best practices and benefits of sustainable model for policy reforms in development perspective.
